iOS Dev Group Switzerland

Newsletter!

I decided to add a new service from this website: Newsletter. I think it’s good to share what of good internet is offering for devs and what Swiss devs are doing on the iOS market.

I think it would be great have a newsletter every 2 weeks pointing to great resources in the web (like articles, tutorials, libraries, etc…) and apps of Swiss devs.

You can subscribe using the the form in the sidebar.

BeMyApp Zürich, February 24th-26th 2012

It’s not a secret: we’re organizing the event in Switzerland. This fantastic event will take place in Zürich the 24th, 25th and 26th February and will be in conjunction with many other big cities in the world.

I’m quite sure, quoting Barney Stinson of HIMYM, “It’s gonna be legend… wait for it… DARY!”. We’re doing a great job, contacting sponsors, looking for the right place to host the event (there’re a lot of good places out there, but we need one with a good internet connection, that can stay open 24h/24h, with hotels in the area, etc…), looking for partners, etc…

If you still don’t know what BeMyApp is, please visit the website (the french version is better).

I’ll keep you updated so, stay tuned! ;)

Dev Resources - Part 1

Shame on me that I never wrote a post for newbies and this series of posts will be for those developers that have begun the iOS development since few weeks or months.

The goal is offer to them, but even useful to expert developers as reminder, a good list of resources to visit for some specific topics (such as: graphics, game development, library, tutorial, etc…).

The first post will be a collection of utilities and small apps useful when developing with iOS and XCode. Let’s start!

Migrated to Octopress

After a few days of toughs I decided to migrate from Wordpress to Octopress. I have to say that this choice was the best for this blog. Octopress is really a powerful system that gives you the chance to generate a full featured blog without PHP and using only static HTML. What you have to do is just checkout Octopress, that has been created with Ruby using a fantastic framework called Jekyll, a simple, blog aware, static site generator.

I have to say that the migration was really quick and I did it in less than 2 hours (not too much work). So, if you need a powerful tool to generate a blog, without use a database and CRMs like Joomla or Wordpress, check out Octopress!

The Future of the Project

My last post was a long time ago. I moved from Switzerland, precisely, from Ticino to London, looking for a more competitive market and I found a really great place, probably one of the most beautiful city in the world with one of the most richest market. My adventure has been difficult, of course, but what I learned here is, without any doubts, priceless.

Interview With Jonas Schnelli

After the first interview with Adrian from Akosma Software, today is the time to interview a really young developer: Jonas Schnelli from Include7.

Interview With Adrian Kosmaczewski

This is the first interview by iPhoneDevSuisse. It’s the first and of course not the last one! Today the interview was with Adrian Kosmaczewski, director of akosma software, maker of iPhone, Cocoa and Cappuccino apps! With Adrian we have talked about the new iPad and the future business that can be done with this new device, after that, we focused on the event hosted by Apple today, 8th April. After those 2 topics we discussed about his projects over iPad and, of course, about Akosma Software. I very enjoyed this conversation, I hope you will do the same.
